Dear Former Boss,
Long time! I hope all is well,
Unfortunately, I did not move on to the next round of America’s got talent, so I will be coming back to New York earlier than expected.
First I’d like to say that leaving with one day notice was wrong on my part. Also, the manner in which I left was completely inappropriate (I am sorry about the dead squirrel prank. I honestly didn’t think I would ever see you all again). I am embarrassed and regretful for my actions.
As a 23-year-old I still have SO much to learn about the workplace, so I am humbly asking that you hire me back ASAP for a second chance.
Below I’ve included some reasons which will hopefully persuade you.
I have never missed a day of work
Before quitting, I was at work – on time – every single day. I believe this shows my dedication to the job (before AGT).
I am working towards a masters degree
Since I am putting my musical career on hold I have decided to go back to school for my Master’s degree in Sociology. I will be attending NYU. This is extremely impressive and also shows that my parents have loads of money and I technically do not have to be working.
Amazing work ethic
I am depressed
It really isn’t good for my mental health to stay in my apartment all day.
I need a recommendation
Clearly, I will not be at this job forever, but I love you guys and will need recommendations for future jobs after my dad stops supporting me. I would also like health benefits. How long do I have to be an employee for that?
Thank you SO much for your consideration.
P.S – my dad is a labor and employment lawyer just FYI
