Hi readers and writers! I’m teaching a one-day satire workshop through the amazing Brooklyn Comedy Collective. It’s in Brooklyn on Sunday, November 24 from 1-5 p.m. and you can sign up here! If you come, I’ll teach you absolutely everything I know about satire and dog breeds (unrelated, but I know a lot about dog breeds). Here’s the course description:
If you’re looking to hone your skills as a satirist or simply learn the basics of humor writing, this workshop is here to help! Through writing exercises and feedback, both novice and experienced writers will get the assistance they need to turn their ideas into sharp and funny satirical pieces. Students will also get advice on how to hone their voices as writers and tips on where and how to effectively pitch their work to humor outlets. Whether you’re looking to rack up bylines or simply try out a new form of expression, this workshop will encourage you to keep putting pen to paper in a safe, supportive environment at Brooklyn’s top comedy theater and school.
I hope to see you there!
