Prior to the Beatles’ beat, nothing rocked my boat.
Music didn’t move me much, I barely kept afloat.
Then a friend insisted I listen to a group that she had found.
Their back beat made it certain that I would stick around.
In that moment, I came alive. I understood the pull.
My feet tapped, my fingers clicked, and suddenly I was cool.
As for John, his words have made me one of his biggest fans.
Hence my mantra: life’s what happens when you’re busy making other plans.
