Sarahbeth’s No-Stress 3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

by Tom Ziegler

If there’s one thing everyone can agree on, it’s how easy these cookies are to bake. They’re also just right for little ones who are learning their way around a kitchen, because there’s only three ingredients!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg

Directions: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix everything in a bowl until smooth, roll into one-inch balls. Flatten each one with a fork on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake about 10 minutes. C’est tout! Bon appétit!

Very tasty @Sarahbeth! Great in a pinch when you don’t have time for something more elaborate.

Decent enough @Sarahbeth but a whole cup of sugar? Waaaayyyyy too much! I would cut it by half and mash in two bananas instead.

Vegan options?

100% @Healthy!Mama—way way WAY too much!!! Are you trying to give us diabetes @Sarahbeth? Halve the sugar, mash in one banana (organic), and since all my kiddos have peanut allergies, I substituted soy nut butter (non-GMO), which IMHO gives a more velvety mouthfeel. I also added a pinch of baking powder (aluminum-free) to help the cookies spread out better.

A few glaring misconceptions I feel compelled to address here @GooberFree123 1.) There is no such thing as non-GMO anything. SCIENCE. All the food we’ve eaten for the last thousand years has been genetically modified in one way or another. And 2.) BAKING POWDER????? Why do you think the directions say to flatten each cookie with a fork? Just for argument’s sake, I tried your version of this recipe and had to chisel the cookies off the tray. INEDIBLE.

Y’all gonna hate on me 4 this, but I don’t think them shitz is sweet enough! I added half a bag of butterscotch chips, a quarter can of Dr. Pepper and sprinkled everything with powdered sugar. NomNomNom

This is an old recipe that’s been circulating for some time @Sarahbeth, but it’s still serviceable. We’re not sure, however, how we feel about your supposition that it’s “just right” for our “little ones.” You only lower the bar by assuming directions must be oversimplified for children. And to address your concerns @MeatIsMordor (since no one else would), substitute the aquafaba from a can of garbanzo beans for the egg. We also swapped out monk fruit sweetener for the sugar and tahini for the peanut butter and sprinkled cacao nibs on top.

Sorry almost forgot! B4 you dust everything with the powdered sugar, drizzle this shizzle with 2 melted Milky Ways. Nom2daNom!

I think you’re missing the point here, guys. All the recipe calls for is three ingredients. Three. That’s it.

**Guys????** Check your privilege @Kkmnstr8. Can’t wait to try your tahini substitute @ParkSlopeParentals!!! Just added a jar to my KwiKart order.

Are you *not* reading the comments @MeatIsMordor? I just *told* you: “substitute the aquafaba from a can of garbanzo beans for the egg”

DERP! THX @ParkSlopeParentals. Superhelpful! I hope those aren’t Que Rico brand garbanzo beans tho. Their CEO was a HUGE supporter of you-know-who in 2016 AND 2020.

I’m not even going to dignify that with a response @MeatIsMordor.

You just DID @ParkSlopeParentals, and maybe you need to check **your** privilege @Healthy!Karen. Not everyone can afford to have their organic, non-GMO cacao nibs home-delivered by a gig-economy worker who makes less than minimum wage. Perhaps you should swap out your NOT-peanut-butter cookies for a big slice of HUMBLE PIE.

For the record @TheWholeFoodTruth, it was @GooberFree123 who said non-GMO and organic, and it was @ParkSlopeParentals who used cacao nibs. And also for the record…..I am not a Karen!

TheWholeFoodTruth

That’s EXACTLY what a Karen would say @Healthy!Karen

Ditto @Healthy!Karen. And you need to stop shouting @TheWholeFoodTruth. You’re mean.
