True Southern Weddings And Celebrations

Our story
The Spanish Moss Estate was originally built in 1904 and is now a historical landmark located in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. We don’t name the original owners anymore because they were horrible people and being that we are also horrible people, we feel that simply not talking about them erases the horrible things they did. So, shush.

About the owner
My name is Patience Eugenia Cobb-Merryweather, and I am the visionary behind True Southern Weddings and Celebrations. I was born and raised on the famous rainbow row in Charleston, South Carolina. I’m not married to the love of my life, but he does afford me the life I love.

Lachlan Dempsey Harrison Merryweather XVII and I married nine years ago and have four wealthy, horse-faced children.

FAQ
What steps do I take to book The Estate venue?

The Estate is our premier venue and stays booked years in advance, so it’s likely not even attainable for you. On the off chance there is an availability, please make sure you are between the ages of 24–29 years old and a size two or four. And not that I should have to say this but, The Estate venue is only available for cool blondes with baby highlights. No divorcees.

Is it safe to say that if I’m not allowed to book The Estate then I’m not allowed to book The Spanish Moss Garden venue?

Look at you. Homely but not stupid. You are correct. The Spanish Moss Garden is reserved for our extra special, age-appropriate brides that need to impress more than 150 guests.

The Bootlegger Barn sounds like a hoedown and not a wedding venue. Can you tell me more about it?

You are correct. It is our least desirable venue option, which is why we recommend it for the least desirable bride. If you and your fiancé are already parents, then this is the venue for you. You can let all your bastard children run around in whatever state they are used to, and no one at The Estate venue will have to see them.

Are you a natural brunette? The Bootlegger Barn will meet the needs of your kind. A second-time bride that wasn’t lucky in love the first time? Then The Bootlegger Barn will meet your sad, unfortunate needs too. It sits on the back of the property near the pluff mud. We like to think of the smell as part of your Lowcountry ambience. No extra charge for that.

Are there any activities for the bridegroom and his groomsmen?

At True Southern Weddings and Celebrations, we go the extra mile for all our bridegrooms. While our brides are busy getting beautiful for the day, our bridegrooms have access to the back acreage of our land.

We stock the land with prized bucks that are organically raised just a few miles down the road. A romp through the acreage and a fresh kill are an excellent way for our bridegrooms and groomsmen to let off some steam before the ceremony.

Processing and mounts are an extra charge.

Testimonials
“Patience lived up to her name! Anything I requested was granted. She managed to seat my less attractive guests seamlessly and delicately in the back. No one noticed a thing! And everyone was still included. Just not in my photographs.” Leslie Anne Higginbottom-Collingsworth

“I had my debutante photo session at The Spanish Moss Garden. It was Lowcountry tradition meets English garden fabulous. Even though The Bootlegger Barn is in your sightline from the garden, Patience has you covered. There is a gorgeous fence covered in ivy, so you don’t see those guests.” Georgia Leigh Underwood

“My wife purchased the pre-wedding hunting session for me and my groomsmen as a special gift. Firing weapons and taking part in activities specifically curated for me made me feel included in the wedding process. Killing a buck on my wedding day will be a memory I cherish.” Cash Edward Rose
